Terms and Conditions

Thank you for using the InternLink system ("InternLink" or "System") provided by the Polytechnic University of the Philippines ("PUP" or "University") with main operations located at Anonas Street, Santa Mesa, Manila, Philippines 1016.

By using our internship management system, you are agreeing to these terms. Please read carefully.

Acceptance of Terms

The InternLink system that PUP provides to you is subject to the following Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). This is an agreement between you (either an individual or a single entity) and the University. By accessing, browsing and/or interacting with our system, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

PUP reserves the right to update the Terms at any time without notice to you. The most current version of the Terms can be viewed by accessing the "Terms and Conditions" link located within the InternLink system.

The University offers various features within InternLink wherein additional terms or requirements may apply. As such, these terms will be available within relevant system features, and those additional terms become part of your agreement with the University if you use those features.

Description of Services

The University provides you access to the InternLink internship management system, including internship applications, job postings, evaluations, document management, communication tools, and associated features (collectively referred to as "Services"). The Services, its updates, enhancements, new features, and/or the addition of any new functionality are subject to these Terms.

Limitation of Use

The Services are for your academic, internship-related, and non-commercial use within the PUP internship program. PUP grants you conditional access to visit, browse, and interact with the Services as long as you abide with these Terms.

The information including images, documents, and data contained within the Services ("Information") are provided by PUP and may be used for internship and academic purposes only. You may not copy, modify, distribute, transmit, display, reproduce, publish, license, develop derivative works from, transfer, or sell any Information, forms or documentation obtained from the Services without proper authorization.

PUP and its associated symbols, consisting the logo and the typeface, should follow the standard guidelines. It must not be altered in any way, such as in layout, shape, font, font style, position or color.

When written permission to reproduce materials is granted, PUP should be acknowledged as the source of the materials.

User Account, Password and Security

The InternLink system requires you to create an account with valid credentials. You must complete the registration process by providing PUP with current, complete and accurate information as prompted by the registration form. You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account. Furthermore, you are entirely responsible for any and all activities that occur within your account.

You agree to notify the PUP Information and Communications Technology Office ("ICTO" or "ICT Office") immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. PUP, ICTO, its developers and third-party providers will not be liable for any loss that you may incur as a result of someone else using your password or account, either with or without your knowledge. However, you could be held liable for losses incurred by PUP or another party due to someone else using your account or password. You may not use anyone else's account at any time. Sharing of user account and password is strictly prohibited.

No Unlawful or Prohibited Use of the Services

As a condition of your use of the Services, you will not use the Services for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms, conditions, and notices. You may not use the Services in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair any PUP server, or the network(s) connected to any PUP server, or interfere with any other party's use and enjoyment of any Services.

You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any Services, other accounts, computer systems or networks connected to any PUP server or to any of the Services, through hacking, password mining or any other means. You may not obtain or attempt to obtain any materials or information through any means not intentionally made available through the Services.

You must not infiltrate, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Services or any of its components.

Communication Services and Code of Conduct

The Services may contain messaging features, forums, evaluation systems, document sharing, and other communication facilities designed to enable you to communicate with others (each referred to as "Communication Service" and collectively as "Communication Services"). You agree to use the Communication Services only to post, send and receive messages and material that are proper and related to internship activities.

The University adheres to the basic principles of human decency, respect and values. We have zero tolerance for messages and comments that curse, trash, degrade, humiliate and intimidate. Such behavior does little to inspire intelligent and educated discussion.

By way of example, and not limited to the following, you agree that when you use the Communication Services, you will NOT:

  • Use the Communication Services in connection with surveys, contests, pyramid schemes, chain letters, junk email, spamming or any duplicative or unsolicited messages (commercial or otherwise);
  • Defame, abuse, harass, insult, curse, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and publicity) of others;
  • Disrespect the views of others in internship-related discussions;
  • Publish, post, disclose, upload, distribute or disseminate any inappropriate, political, profane, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, inaccurate, harassing, hateful, threatening, indecent or unlawful topic, name, material or information;
  • Upload, or otherwise make available, files or documents that contain images, photographs, software or other material protected by intellectual property laws;
  • Upload files that contain viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, cancelbots, corrupted files, malware, ransomware or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of another's computer;
  • Falsify or delete any copyright management information, such as author attributions, legal or other proper notices;
  • Restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying the Communication Services;
  • Violate any code of conduct or other guidelines which may be applicable for any particular Communication Service;
  • Harvest or otherwise collect information about others, including e-mail addresses;
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations;
  • Create a false identity for the purpose of misleading others and the University;
  • Post personal information (personal email, mobile number, landline number, etc.) of anyone without consent;

Materials Provided to PUP

PUP does not claim ownership of the materials you provide to the University (including feedback, documents, evaluations, and submissions) or post, upload, input or submit to InternLink for review. However, by posting, uploading, inputting, providing or submitting your materials you are granting PUP permission to use your submission in connection with the University's internship program operations.

No compensation will be paid with respect to the use of your submissions, as provided herein. PUP is under no obligation to post or use any submission you may provide and PUP may remove any submission at any time in its sole discretion.

Data Privacy and Protection

PUP is committed to protecting your privacy and personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Personal information collected through InternLink will be used solely for internship program administration, academic purposes, and communication related to your internship activities.

Your personal data may be shared with authorized university personnel, internship coordinators, faculty advisors, and partner host training establishments as necessary for internship program administration.

System Availability and Maintenance

While PUP strives to maintain continuous system availability, the InternLink system may experience planned or unplanned downtime for maintenance, updates, or technical issues. PUP will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned maintenance activities.

Intellectual Property Rights

PUP respects intellectual property rights. The InternLink system, its design, functionality, and content are protected by intellectual property laws. If you believe your intellectual property rights are being infringed, you may contact the PUP Office of the Chief Legal Counsel.

Limitation of Liability

PUP and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and third-party providers disclaim all warranties and conditions with regard to the InternLink system, including all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.

In no event shall PUP, its employees, developers and/or its respective partners be liable for any special, indirect or consequential damages or any damages whatsoever resulting from loss of use, data or opportunities, whether in an action of contract, negligence or other tortious action, arising out of or in connection with the use or performance of the InternLink system.

Termination

PUP reserves the right to terminate your access to the InternLink system at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, all rights and licenses granted to you will immediately cease.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Philippines.

Changes to Terms

PUP reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the InternLink system. Your continued use of the system after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
